Hey Guys! Here is an awesome service that I discovered a few weeks back. Offliberty is a nice service which helps people who are sometimes deprived or cannot access the Internet to view online media. Briefly, you’ll be able to download content (audio, video, podcasts) in a smart way with just a few clicks.

OffLiberty

The way it works is very simple; just go to Offliberty. Enter the link of the video or the song you’re trying to download. Once you’ve specified the URL, click “OFF” and let the processing begin. In a few seconds, you will be presented a screen reading “Right click here and ‘Save link as..’”. Just follow the instructions and viola!, the content will start downloading.

I’ve personally tested Offliberty with Youtube, Myspace, Soundcloud and many other sites and it works like a charm! So now enjoy your favourite online content, offline too with Offliberty!

I love Linux and I love Ubuntu. However, the matter of fact remains that I cannot totally migrate to Ubuntu and hence have been using Ubuntu as dual boot with Windows 7. The reasons are many, but one of them is the fact that I use some softwares for which I have to keep my Windows alive. I am trying hard to fully migrate to Linux and I hope the transition will be quick.

Well currently I dedicated a 60 GB of partition for Linux installation, and I most certainly don’t use all of it. In fact after installing most of the things I still have loads of space left. And not to mention that I keep running out of space on my Windows partition. So I thought why not use the free space on Ubuntu partition to store my files. Windows 7 or for that matter any Windows version doesn’t allow you to mount anything other than FAT,exFAT and NTFS. So I started looking out for ways with which I could mount my Ubuntu partition in Windows.

And here comes in this wonderful utility called ext2fsd. Just under 1 MB this utility helps you mount any of your ext partitions on your Windows environment. The utility is open source and is available under the GNU General Public License (GPL). You can download the ext2fsd HERE. At the time of writing this post ext2fsd is at version 0.51.

ext2fsd Home Screen

After starting the application just select the EXT drive and hit F3, you’ll see a screen like the one below.

ext2fsd Properties

Now select options according to your needs. Remember however is to deselect Mount Volume in readonly mode, because you’ll not be able to write files in that drive and defeating the purpose of this post. However, please ensure that you don’t mess with the system files in the drive as it might cause issues with your Ubuntu boot and system. Have fun with all the extra space!
